traditional songs from the Carpat...hian
Mountains in a powerful collaboration with three British musicians, Meg
Hamilton, Matt Bacon and Paul Moylan, leading lights in the revival of
interest in Eastern European music in the UK. With refreshing spontaneity
and her distinctive voice, Monooka blends the fiery Romanian, Serbian and
Gypsy songs of her roots with genuine soul. As well as being a singer
Monooka is a storyteller and puppeteer, so you can expect an evening of
laughter and joy as well as deeply touching folk songs and fine
musicianship - a perfect informal Saturday evening of world music at the
Forge.
