Richard and Tommy Emmanuel on Youtube. Great!

Londoner Richard Smith was a child prodigy who, aged 11, played on stage with Chet Atkins, the late great godfather of fingerstyle guitar. He moved to the USA  to the guitar hothouse of Nashville, and became USA National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion in 2001.  Richard Smith is nothing less than a phenomenon, and his live shows are mind-blowing. You’ll wonder how one man and a guitar can sound as he does – sometimes he’s a whole marching band all on his own! He's toured the world, surprising audiences everywhere with his genius, showcasing a repertoire spanning an incredible range of musical styles from country, bluegrass, mainstream jazz, pop, to classical guitar, with fun, feeling and finesse.  He's joined for this concert by his wife Julie Adams on cello.

Their repertoire includes a wide variety of instrumental and vocal music from Scott Joplin Rags, Sousa marches, Mozart, fiddle tunes, standards, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed tunes, Django Reinhardt gypsy jazz, Bach, Beatles and pop tunes, lightning fast barn-burners to beautiful ballads. This promises to be an outstanding evening of virtuoso musicianship. The combination of Julie's lyrical style and Richard's dazzling technique will melt your heartstrings, have your toes tapping and your jaws hanging open.
