Don't miss this unique chance to experience the wonderful songs of Lisbon with fado singer Duarte in the heart of Speldhurst! Profits from the event will go towards supporting Speldhurst School PTA fundraising.

Duarte is an award-winning singer of fado, the evocative songs typical of Lisbon. He's also a clinical psychologist, so some of his songs are inspired by his work with his clients. Starting to sing fado aged 7, in 2006 Duarte won the prestigious Male Revelation Prize of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation. He communicates with the subtlest of vocal styling, and an infectious, empathetic joy, with a facility to not take himself too seriously. And he explains his songs in English. With Pedro Amendoeira on the idiosyncratic Portuguese guitar and João Filipe on guitar.
